Telemetry is in early access. To turn it on for your workspace, book a call or ask in Discord.
Pick a metric
The list on the left groups metrics by the part of the name before the first dot, such ashttp or process. Cloud provider metrics, such as CloudWatch, are listed after your own. Search metrics matches names, descriptions, units, and attribute keys.
When you open the page without a metric, it shows the first one in the list.
The header shows the metric’s name, its kind (Gauge, Sum, Histogram, Exp. histogram, or Summary), its unit, which services report it, and how many attributes it has.
Filter
The search bar filters by resource attributes and data point attributes. Pick an attribute,= or !=, and a value. A graph can have up to 50 filters.
Aggregation
Aggregation sets how data points combine in each time step:
Histograms open on 95th percentile and summaries on Average. Count counts data points and has no unit.
Group by
Group by splits the graph into one series per value of an attribute. Each option shows whether it is a data point or resource attribute and how many values it has. Choose No grouping for one series.Chart
Switch between Lines and Bars. The heading names the aggregation, metric, and grouping, and shows the series count and time step. Drag across the graph to zoom into that window. The time picker works as in Logs. Below the graph, a table lists each series with its Avg, Max, and Last value. Click a series to hide or show it.Use the graph elsewhere
- Add to dashboard adds the graph as a widget to an existing dashboard or a New dashboard. See Dashboards.
- Create alert opens a new alert with this metric, its filters, and its grouping filled in. See Alerts.
Query metrics from an agent
The MCP server has aquery_metrics tool, and the management API has POST /telemetry/metrics/search.
