Tag mode lets anyone in your Slack workspace mention Superlog and get an answer in the thread. Use it for questions like “why is checkout slow since this morning?” or “did yesterday’s deploy change how retries work?”. Superlog looks at your connected integrations and repositories and replies with what it found, the evidence, and a suggested next step. Tag mode is read-only. It does not open pull requests, create tickets, or change anything in your tools. For work that should act, use an automation.

Turn on tag mode

1

Connect Slack

Tag mode needs a Slack connection. Add Slack from Integrations if it is not connected.
2

Open tag mode

Click Tag mode in the sidebar and turn on Slack tag mode.
3

Choose what it can see

Under Connected integrations, turn each integration on or off. For GitHub, click configure and select the repositories it may read. For Vercel, select the projects. Use Add integration to connect more tools.
4

Add secrets (optional)

Under Workspace secrets, click Choose secrets to let tag mode call your own APIs. See Workspace secrets.
5

Adjust the prompt (optional)

Under Prompt, edit the instructions tag mode follows for every question.
Changes save automatically.

Ask a question

Mention the Superlog app in a channel it can read and write your question in the same message. Superlog adds an 👀 reaction, posts an “Investigating…” card in the thread, and then replies with its answer. Mention Superlog again in the same thread to ask a follow-up. It continues the same conversation with the context it already gathered for up to 24 hours.

What tag mode can use

Tag mode can read from every integration you turn on for it: Tag mode can also edit code and run commands inside its sandbox to test an idea. Nothing in the sandbox is published.

Tag mode and automations

Slack automations with an App mentioned trigger run alongside tag mode. If you want a mention to do something specific, such as fix a bug and open a pull request, create an automation for it. See Triggers. Tag mode questions use your plan’s usage allowance. See Billing.
