Discord lets people in your server start automations with a slash command. The Answer community questions template uses it.

Connect Discord

In Integrations, click Add on Discord and authorize the Superlog app for one Discord server. Superlog syncs the server’s text and announcement channels and registers the /automate command. If a new channel is missing from the trigger, reconnect Discord to refresh the channel list.

Start automations from Discord

1

Add a Discord trigger

In the automation editor, click Add trigger, choose Automation command in channel, and pick the channels.
2

Run the command

In one of those channels, run /automate. Add the optional context option to pass text to the agent.
/automate starts every active automation that watches the channel. Discord shows a private reply: Automation started., or a message that no automation is configured for the channel. The agent’s result is not posted back to Discord. Give the automation another way to report, such as a Slack connector or a GitHub repository for pull requests.

Self-hosted setup

Create a Discord application with a bot. Enable Requires OAuth2 Code Grant and grant the View Channels permission. Set DISCORD_APPLICATION_ID, DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN, DISCORD_CLIENT_SECRET, and DISCORD_PUBLIC_KEY. See Environment variables.
