An automation runs a coding agent on a task each time one of its triggers fires. This page covers creating, editing, and managing automations. To see how the parts fit together, read How Superlog works.

Create an automation

1

Start from a template or from blank

Open Automations. Pick a card under Start from a template, or click Create automation for a blank one. See Templates.
2

Name it

New automations are named “New automation”. Click the pencil next to the name to rename it. Names are up to 120 characters and must be unique in the workspace.
3

Add triggers

Under Triggers, click Add trigger and pick an event. Choose the connection and the channels or projects to watch. See Triggers.
4

Write the instructions

Under Agent instructions, describe the task. Say what the agent should look at, what a good result is, and where it should report. Instructions can be up to 50,000 characters.
5

Choose a model

In the instructions toolbar, click Choose model. Pick a provider, then a model. Superlog selects a compatible harness, which you can change. See Models and harnesses.
6

Add repositories

Under Repositories, click Add repository and pick up to 10. Drag them to reorder. The first one is labeled Main directory and is where the agent starts.
7

Add connectors

Under Connectors, click Add connector to give the agent access to Slack, Sentry, Datadog, Linear, a custom MCP server, or workspace secrets. See Connectors.
8

Save

Click Save. The automation is active as soon as it is saved.
Superlog checks the automation before saving. It needs at least one trigger, a connection and at least one channel or project for each trigger, at least one repository, and a model.

Edit an automation

Open an automation and select the Settings tab. Changes save automatically. The header shows Saving… and then Saved. If a change leaves the automation incomplete, for example by removing its last repository, Superlog waits to save until it is complete again. Edits apply to new runs. Runs already in progress keep the configuration they started with.

Run, test, and pause

The automations list

The Automations page lists every automation in the workspace with its triggers, connectors, last run, and status (Active or Paused). The ⋯ menu on each row has View runs, Edit, Run now, and Pause or Resume.
