A CloudFormation stack in your account streams one region's CloudWatch metrics and CloudWatch Logs to Superlog through Amazon Data Firehose. Metric Streams, Firehose, and log delivery are billed to your AWS account. Deploy one stack per region.

**1. Open the AWS setup**

Open **Overview** in the sidebar, click **Add telemetry**, and pick **Amazon Web Services**.

**2. Choose a region**

Pick the **Region** and click **Create stack link**. Superlog creates an ingest key for the stack.

**3. Deploy the stack**

Click **Open in the AWS console** to create the stack with its parameters filled in. Or download the template and run the `aws cloudformation deploy` command shown on the page.

The link and command contain the new ingest key. Copy them now. They are not shown again.

The stack:

* Streams metrics from these namespaces: `AWS/EC2`, `AWS/EBS`, `AWS/RDS`, `AWS/ApplicationELB`, `AWS/NetworkELB`, `AWS/ELB`, `AWS/Lambda`, `AWS/ECS`, `ECS/ContainerInsights`, `AWS/DynamoDB`, `AWS/SQS`, `AWS/SNS`, `AWS/S3`, `AWS/ElastiCache`, `AWS/ApiGateway`, and `AWS/CloudFront`.
* Forwards every CloudWatch Logs log group in the region with an account-level subscription filter.
* Keeps records Firehose could not deliver in an S3 bucket for a week.

Stack parameters control the volume. Set `EnableMetrics` or `EnableLogs` to `false` to skip a signal. Set `LogsFilterPattern` to a CloudWatch Logs filter pattern to forward only matching events.

To stop streaming, delete the stack in CloudFormation. **Remove** in Superlog revokes the stack's key.
